This is the transcript:
A drunk sorority girl in the staircase, an economy crazed lunatic on the corner, and a drug deal in the middle of biology class, I know it sounds like the setup to a bad joke, but actually this is the only place in the world where you can see all of these rare and distinctive creatures at one time: college. Yet, this is also the same ecosystem wherein another creature resides: massive student debt.
My business idea profits from college student’s wild lifestyles and crushing weight of loans by offering them a way to pay for their extravagance and fiscal irresponsibility.
My company, Gator Garb, will offer them cold hard cash for lightly used clothing, jewelry, shoes, and other personal items. The items they bring in will be assessed for value and condition. They will be given a payment that is 25-50% the cost of the item. Students will be able to participate in the process by accepting the payment or leaving with their items. Bought items are resold via various avenues. Small scale items are resold at thrift stores, while bigger items and high-value items are resold on social media. While the company only receives 25%-15% in profit from one item, the turnaround on most items is quick meaning most of the inventory is easily liquidated and profited upon.
To kickstart this business, Gator Garb needs only $1,000 from you to truly begin to see dividends. The company is in action today, already having made a hundred dollars in profit in the last week alone, but with your help, we can do more.
Note: I chose to dress like a college student in my video to truly capture the essence of the company, Gator Garb.

Hey Maeghan!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed listening to your elevator pitch! I also think it was a good idea to add a transcript. Your introduction kept me interested to listen to your pitch. I would invest in Gator Garb as I have a lot of clothes I haven't even worn, but dont fit me anymore. I like how you considered basically every part of this idea including the compensation, the fact that they need to be assessed, and in your presentation how you dressed like a college student.

Meaghan,
ReplyDeleteAgain I am loving your thoughtfulness. Thinking about the way you should dress to capture more attention was brilliant. I can tell from your tone of voice and hand movements that this wasn’t something that you were disconnected with. Your business plan and execution is what really brought your pitch home for me. So all in all I really enjoyed it. But, if I had to give some constructive criticism it would be to probably just clear your background of things not related to your pitch. I say this be tase though the back is shut and boring we don’t have other things distracting us from listening to your pitch. Thank you for sharing.
